About Michael Fliess
Michael has a background in the arts, nonprofit and health sectors. He has coordinated creative programs, been a leader in the area of volunteer engagement and spent much of his career developing programs for clients in community, hospital, and palliative care settings. He has worked extensively with newcomers and individuals with chronic and mental health illness. He is also passionate about training, mentorship, and co-generational partnerships with a broad range of experience in these areas.
Michael is a graduate of OCADU, and studied at the Kendal College of Art and Design, Anderson Ranch Arts Centre and Canadian Book Binders & Book Artists Guild. His education also includes the areas of training and volunteer management.
Michael has taught book arts workshops in various community settings and co-founded a nonprofit that delivered creative workshops for individuals with chronic health and mental health illnesses.
